Drea de Matteo, renowned for her role in the popular television series The Sopranos, has recently expressed her decision to join the adult content platform OnlyFans.

Established in 2016, OnlyFans provides users with the opportunity to subscribe to individual content creators, and has gained notoriety for its explicit and pornographic videos and images. In an interview with Fox News Digital, de Matteo, who portrayed Adrianna La Cerva in the aforementioned mafia drama, discussed her earnings from television projects and revealed that she had begun sharing provocative content on OnlyFans to support her family.

The 51-year-old actress stated, “People find it difficult to believe that I have never been paid a substantial amount for any of the jobs I have undertaken. People assume that I am wealthy, but that is not the case. I have worked from job to job.” She further added, “In the past three years, things have changed. My children have always been my top priority. I have declined numerous job offers in the past to be with my children, as their father, musician Shooter Jennings, is frequently on tour and is not present as often.” Several notable actors and musicians, including Cardi B, Bella Thorne, Tyga, and Chris Brown, have utilized OnlyFans as a platform to sell access to their pictures and videos.

When asked about the criticism she has received for joining the platform, de Matteo responded, “I am indifferent to it. I prioritize my family’s well-being over my public image.” She further stated, “Despite the negative comments directed towards me for joining OnlyFans, I view myself as a fighter who refuses to accept defeat.” After departing from the series in season five, de Matteo secured roles in popular shows such as Desperate Housewives and Sons of Anarchy, and was cast as Joey Tribbiani’s sister in the Friends spin-off Joey. In an interview with Fox, she also discussed being dropped by her agent during the pandemic due to her stance on vaccinations and the need for a source of income during the ongoing actors’ strike.

“I guess you could say I was a bad girl because I did not follow the rules a couple of years ago,” she said. “So, I don’t want to be at the mercy of mandates or strike or anything like that ever again.”
